{"id":2417,"date":"2017-11-04T11:20:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-04T18:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.k6bj.org\/?p=2417"},"modified":"2017-12-07T23:14:28","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T07:14:28","slug":"its-good-to-be-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/k6bj.org\/wordpress\/archives\/2417","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s good to be back."},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Hello to my SCCARC friends, it&#8217;s good to be back.<\/h4>\n<p>I recently had lunch with my son and his boss, both of whom are engineers<br \/>\nat a major firm specializing in auto electronic control systems.&nbsp; Neither<br \/>\nhave extensive RF backgrounds and when the topic of hacking came up I was<br \/>\nasked for some comments.&nbsp; All I could offer was an opinion that some<br \/>\nalarming reports of remote RF interference should not be taken at face<br \/>\nvalue.&nbsp; &nbsp; I suggested that RFI&nbsp; from consumer electronics ( including ham<br \/>\nHTs) in a vehicle will more likely become&nbsp; a problem&nbsp; as their systems<br \/>\nbecome high speed local area networks.<\/p>\n<p>The very day I returned home I checked into a webinar by Computer<br \/>\nSimulation Technologies&nbsp; on Automotive&nbsp; Electro -Magnetic Compatibility.<br \/>\nIt covered the very familiar topics of radiated and conductive<br \/>\ninterference, common-mode and differential modes and the means of<br \/>\nprotection at 100Mbps. Most interesting was the ability of their software<br \/>\nto assess the impacts of such minor items such as connector pin-outs. This<br \/>\noutstanding presentation will soon be available as # 434316971 on their<br \/>\nwebsite.
