{"id":8705,"date":"2024-09-28T20:40:31","date_gmt":"2024-09-29T03:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/k6bj.org\/wordpress\/?p=8705"},"modified":"2024-09-28T20:40:32","modified_gmt":"2024-09-29T03:40:32","slug":"pota-oct-5-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/k6bj.org\/wordpress\/archives\/8705","title":{"rendered":"POTA Oct 5, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parks on the Air &#8211; October 5<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/k6bj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Santa Cruz County Amateur Radio Club<\/a>&nbsp;is hosting a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pota.app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>POTA<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;(Parks-on-the-Air) event&nbsp;<strong>Saturday October 5th<\/strong>&nbsp;in the upper parking lot of&nbsp;<strong>Seacliff State Beach from 10:00 till 14:00<\/strong>, or till we run out of things to say.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone is invited. This is not just a POTA event. We will be testing our field set ups and experimenting with different equipment and protocols, including phone, CW and weak signal formats. Even if you don&#8217;t plan on operating, come by and see what we&#8217;re up to. Or, you can try to make a QSO with us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to set up a station, please let&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:monterey10@hotmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Craig<\/a>&nbsp;or me know so that we can have some coordination per modes, bands and antenna locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first of hopefully regularly scheduled POTA play dates.
